Alexander and Joanna first appeared as a jazz duo on the eve of Joanna's 21st birthday at an Oxford Summer Ball, performing smoochy ballads in the corner of a dimly-lit bar! The duo, now appropriately known as L'Estranges in the Night, has over the years developed an impressive fan-base throughout the UK and abroad and, due to popular demand, is currently recording its first album - watch this space!

Recent UK engagements include Mayfair Concerts, the Guildford Spring Music Festival and the Friends of the Lichfield Festival, plus numerous private dinners, parties of all shapes and sizes, and major corporate events. As Alexander effortlessly alternates between piano, double bass and guitar, not to mention popping up on backing vocals from time to time(!), Joanna sings with a voice which has been described as "fresh, agile and seductive" and has an impressive 3-octave range.

When occasion arises for a larger band, Alexander and Joanna augment themselves with top names in the British jazz scene, having played with the likes of John Critchinson, formally Ronnie Scott's pianist, the legendary saxophonist Bobby Wellins and the inimitable Mike Bradley on drums.

Their set list, which comprises jazz standards, pop songs, cabaret/show songs and original numbers written by the duo, is guaranteed to make every audience laugh, cry and tap their feet in all the right places!

"What a fantastic evening and what a wonderful Band. When I shut my eyes, it sounded like twelve at least playing!"
Michael Simmons, Jazz Impresario

Inspired by the repertoire of the Count Basie Band, this sextet swings hard! Powerhouse trumpet playing from Mark Armstrong, classy tenor sax from the unstoppable Bobby Wellins, all excellently put together by band leader and arranger Alexander L'Estrange.

Perfectly blended voices singing in any style for your wedding, Christmas party, after-dinner entertainment, or your pre-dinner welcome. Especially popular are the famous Victorian Carollers - book early to avoid disappointment!

"The standard of their music is extremely high and I've always felt privileged to be able to ask such talented musicians to provide what is initially background music for my conference banquets, but almost invariably ends up being highly appreciated, highly applauded and much listened to."
Dr John Davies, organiser of medical conferences in Oxford and Cambridge
